Germany withdraws 59,000 Teslas

(MENAFN) German watchdogs restrict on Sunday after reportedly discovering a "software glitch" in the cars.

As announced by Reuters, the recall applies to Tesla models Y and 3, though it is uncertain how many of the 59,000 affected cars are registered in Germany. The nation's road traffic agency states the problem affects the vehicle’s ability to contact first responders in the event of a serious accident.

The recall is only the newest in a spate of tech issues for Tesla in 2022. Musk's firm has had to recall at least 700,000 cars since April, many of them more than once.

The green energy firm hasn't been the only car company to face large recalls, though. Ford proclaimed a recall of 350,000 of its cars in mid-May.
