Ukraine is utilizing rocket system to attack Russian command positions, according to Pentagon

(MENAFN) According to a senior Pentagon official, Ukrainian forces are successfully targeting Russian command positions with US missiles.

Ukrainian troops have had "a lot of success" with US rocket launchers, a US military spokesman told reporters on Friday.

In recent months, the US and its European allies have provided Kiev with modern armaments, including missile systems, to combat Russian armed troops.

As per previous reports, US President Joe Biden handed the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) to Kiev as part of a larger military aid package.

The official recognized that Ukraine was still in the early stages of employing the HIMARS, but that they had utilized it efficiently following a brief training period that had recently finished. At least four HIMARS have already invaded Ukraine, with four more on the way. The HIMARS have a range of around 64 kilometers, allowing the Ukrainians to hit from a greater distance and with more accuracy than shorter-ranged artillery.

“What you see is the Ukrainians are actually systematically selecting targets and then accurately hitting them, thus providing this precise method of degrading Russian capability,” the official stated, noting that Kiev forces will "continue to use this throughout Donbas.”
