Serbia to not be ‘NATO foot soldier’

(MENAFN) Western countries have to say sorry for Serbia instead of forcing it to become a “NATO foot soldier” in the conflict with Russia, Serbian Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin stated.

Belgrade will not let itself be pulled into “other people’s wars,” he said in the morning show on Serbia’s Pink newscaster on Saturday.

Belgrade’s position in relation to the continuing war between Moscow and Kiev is “very clear,” Vulin stated, noting that Serbia respects the territorial integrity of Ukraine but would not be part of the restrictions regime on Russia as a result of its longstanding close and friendly ties with Moscow.

The interior minister was replying to the statements of Deputy Premier Zorana Mihajlovic, who had earlier announced that a hypothetical future Serbian cabinet should be more “specific” in its view on the war.
