Elon Musk breaks his nine-day Twitter blackout to report meeting with Pope Francis

(MENAFN) Elon Musk stated he met with the Pope after breaking his nine-day quiet on Twitter, the social media company he is attempting to acquire.

The world's wealthiest man shared a selfie of himself with Pope Francis, alongside Musk's four teenage boys, and said he was "honored."

Musk's transgender daughter, who requested to change her name officially last month because she no longer wants to be linked to her father, was not present at the occasion.

The reason for Musk's meeting with Pope Francis, as well as the venue, were not immediately apparent.

However, Musk tweeted an old photo of himself enjoying his 40th birthday in Venice with his then-wife, British actress Talulah Riley, just minutes before he published the photograph.

"Venice, a site of Great Remembrance," he posted on Twitter along with the picture.

Musk, who has eight children, tweeted for the first time in nine days, following a period of unusual silence on the social media network.
