(MENAFN) Ukrainian Leader Volodymyr Zelensky has called for the US-led NATO bloc to increase support of his nation during the current war with Russia, saying that Kiev’s defeat would cause a “delayed” conflict between Moscow and the whole West.
“It’s either urgent aid to Ukraine sufficient for victory, or a delayed war between Russia and you,” Zelensky said to NATO presidents.
The nation needs direct military and financial assistance, Zelensky added, declaring that some USD5 billion every month was needed to cover its budget shortfall. Top Ukrainian officials have recurrently requested the West to send economic support.
Zelensky added “Financial aid for Ukraine has no less significance than arms deliveries,” claiming “We need some USD5 billon every month, you know that. And this is a fundamental thing, needed for defense and protection.”
