US president, G7 leaders announce USD4.5B in support for worldwide food security


(MENAFN) The White House stated on Tuesday that US Leader Joe Biden and the G7 highest are preparing to declare more than USD4.5 billion in support to address worldwide food security, with more than 50 percent coming from the US.

It added to the statement that Biden is going to unveil USD2.76 billion in addition US administration investing to aid defend the world’s most vulnerable populations and mitigate the impact of Russia’s attack on Ukraine after expanding food insecurity in addition to malnutrition.

Whereas USD2 billion is going to be moving toward emergency interventions, USD760 million are going to be activated for maintainable near-term food support to aid mitigate poverty, hunger and malnutrition in susceptible nations that are impacted by high food costs, fertilizer as well as fuel.

The funding targets to help efforts in over 47 nations and local associations by tackling fertilizer deficits and purchasing resilient seeds.
