(MENAFN) On Tuesday, a top official stated that Turkey’s airport in Antalya, a well-known traveler destination on the Mediterranean coast, has attained a new record of day-to-day flights.
Governor Ersin Yazici stated that On Saturday, 1,003 planes landed at and took off from Antalya Airport, recording an all-time high for the city.
Speaking at a domestic event, the governor stated that 81,104 foreign visitors reached the Mediterranean resort city on that stated day.
Governor Ersin Yazici also stated that with this number, Antalya Airport is now placed in second place as the busiest Turkish airport while Istanbul stays at first spot.
Mr. Yazici also mentioned that "We are having a season that continues with records ... we are happy ... we are satisfied. I hope it will be even better."
According to Mr. Yazici, as of Sunday, Antalya has welcomed more than 4 million tourists in 2022.
