Turkey’s Borsa Istanbul ends Monday’s session down


(MENAFN) Turkiye's main share index Borsa Istanbul ended at 2,529.26 points on Monday with a day-to-day decline of 0.97 percent.

Opening the day at 2,489.74 points, the index dropped 24.82 points from Friday's end of 2,554.08.

The index's worst rate throughout the day stood at 2,483.01 points and its best reached 2,548.73.

Its entire market value was over 2.1 trillion Turkish liras (USD124.4 billion) by market end, with a day-to-day exchange volume of more than 30.7 billion Turkish liras (USD1.8 billion).

Throughout the initial exchange day of the week, 22 shares on the index surged, 77 decreased, and one stayed unaffected in comparison to Friday's end.

The best exchange volumes were recorded by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, glassmaker Sise Cam as well as steel producer Eregli.

Conglomerate Bera Holding was the highest performer of Monday with its stocks increasing 9.98 percent, whereas automotive firm Dogus Otomotiv (DOAS) witnessed the largest fall of 5.58 percent.

One ounce of gold exchanged for USD1,837.15 by market end, increasing from USD1,832.10 at the prior close, in line with data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The cost of Brent crude oil was increased 1.48 percent to stand at USD110.72 a barrel at 6.16 PM regional time (1516GMT).
