Moscow delivers short-range missile systems to Minsk

(MENAFN) Moscow will deliver Minsk with Iskander-M mobile short-range missile systems, Russian Leader Vladimir Putin said in a conference with Belarusian Leader Alexander Lukashenko on Saturday.

“The decision has been made. Within the next few months, we’ll transfer to Belarus the Iskander-M tactical missile systems, which can use both ballistic and cruise missiles, in both their conventional and nuclear versions,” Putin stated as both presidents held a meeting in St. Petersburg.

The Russian leader proposed that the defense ministers and leaders of the general staff of the near nations have to now collaborate and begin “working out all the details of this joint work.”

In the conference, Lukashenko also called for help by Russia in developing Belarusian planes so that they could carry arms with nuclear warheads.
