Boris Johnson calms annoyance over third term rumor

(MENAFN) UK Premier Boris Johnson is not thinking of staying in post till “the mid-2030s” – instead, he's merely focused on the government's “massive agenda,” he updated alarmed colleagues on Sunday.

Johnson remarked about serving a third term and leading his nation into the 2030s from Rwanda on Saturday, just days following his group was pummeled in by-votes at home, leaving senior conservative representatives to believe he was making a joke.

“When I heard he plans to stay until 2030, I thought he was talking about the 24-hour clock,” joked MP Andrew Bridgen, a Tory calling for another no-confidence vote against the polarizing PM. “I’m more than happy for him to stay until 20:30. He can even stay until nine o’clock if he wants – so long as he’s gone before Parliament breaks up for summer.”
