Iranian Oil, defense ministries sign MOU in creating advanced oil industry equipment
(MENAFN) Shana mentioned in reports that Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oji has confirmed the inking of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) among the oil and defense ministries for collaboration in creating advanced oil industry equipment.
Oji made the declaration on post he published on Twitter, stating that “Military industries are among the technological pioneers in the world, and many technologies have been developed by these industries for the first time. By signing a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Defense, we have tapped into this capacity to produce the sophisticated equipment needed by the oil industry, especially in the high-tech sector."
Oji has earlier stated that local producers are presently providing more than 70 percent of the oil industry’s required equipment, adding that this number can rise to 95 percent.
The indigenization and national output of oil and gas industry equipment have been always between the aims of the Iranian Oil Ministry.
Nonetheless, the matter became more underlined since the re-imposition of the U.S. restrictions and Washington’s will power for blocking the Islamic Republic’s relations with the world advances in knowledge and technology, mainly in the oil and gas area.
