Earthquake Of Magnitude 5.1 Hits Algerian Province Of Oran


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Riyadh, June 27, 2022, SPA -- An earthquake hit the Algerian province of Oran, which is currently hosting the Mediterranean Games, on Sunday evening, state media reported according to Sputnik.
The earthquake measuring 5.1 occurred at around 20:17 local time, according to the report. The epicenter was located 12 kilometers (7.46 miles) north of the district of Kadil. The earthquake caused no casualties, according to emergency services.
The Research Center for Astronomy, Astrophysics and Geophysics (CRAAG) in Algeria recorded two aftershocks at 20:59 and 21:31 with the magnitudes of 3.2 and 4.0, respectively.
