(MENAFN) According to a notification published on the government website, Britain imposed additional trade restrictions against Russia on Thursday. It stated that the latest penalties "enhance the sanctions" imposed on Ukraine in 2014.
The “Notice to Exporters” puts new penalties that includes an embargo on the shipments to Russia of a range of commodities and technology, with jet fuel, and pound sterling or EU denominated banknotes. Including “prohibitions on the making available, supply, or delivery of such banknotes to a person connected with Russia; and on the making available of such banknotes for use in Russia.”
The British government is also placing restrictions on the supply of technical support, financial services, financing, and brokering services in connection with Russian iron and steel imports.
The warning includes a new list of things that cannot be sold to Russia, including chemical and biological warfare goods and technology, as well as marine, oil refining, and essential industry items.
