(MENAFN) German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has claimed that the German military would significantly assist to the reinforcement of NATO's east flank. Additionally, he pledged significant investment, making the Bundeswehr the greatest armed force among the European allies of the United States-led military alliance.
Scholz informed his audience in front of the German parliament on Wednesday that Berlin could, if necessary, " defend every square meter " of NATO territory. The chancellor also stated that Germany was available to the alliance's associates in Eastern Europe. According to Scholz, the nation would boost its military presence in the area, notably in and around the Baltic Sea.
