Parliamentary Consultation Kicks Off In Lebanon To Designate PM


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT, June 23 (KUNA) -- Parliamentary consultations, presided over by President Michel Aoun, began on Thursday to choose a new Prime Minister for Lebanon.
The consultations started with President Aoun meeting with Deputy Speaker of the parliament Elias Bou Saab.
Aoun will be meeting with parliamentary blocs and independent MPs this noon before announcing the figure, which gained the trust of parliament. The designated Prime Minister will be tasked with forming the new cabinet.
On May 15, Lebanon held its parliamentary elections when at that time Prime Minister Najib Mikati and the care-taking cabinet were continuing on their duties. (end)
