BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 23. Romania is the first
European country which established a strategic partnership with
Azerbaijan and is interested in developing relations with
Azerbaijan, co-chair of the Joint Commission for trade and economic
relations and scientific and technical cooperation between the
Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of
Romania, Romanian Minister of Energy Virgil-Daniel Popescu said at
a meeting of commission, on June 23, Trend reports.
Popescu noted that Romania and Azerbaijan jointly can achieve
great success.
'We are trying to expand the scale of our cooperation and are
interested in the development of ties in trade, education,
agriculture and transport spheres,' Popescu said.
Minister noted that Azerbaijan and Romania have the opportunity
for mutual investment.
He added that mutual investments can be increased as in the
energy sector, also in other spheres.
Popescu also noted the successful work of Romanian companies in
Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani - in Romania.
