Amman, June 20 (Petra) -- The Amman Magestrates Court on Monday remanded in custody a man accused of selling expired food at a local university causing the poisoning of a number of students.
In a public session, the court heard that the defendant, who worked at a cafeteria in the university, was behind the poisoning after an initial investigation by the competent authorities that referred the case to the judiciary, according to the charge sheet.
The court has earlier ordered the man held for one week at a correctional and rehabilitation center, and extended the detention for another week.
