Environment Ministry Takes Note Of Fish Death Incident In Al Wakrah

Doha: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change said that it follows the incident of fish deaths in Al Wakrah to stand on its causes, after a citizen reported the incident.

The ministry pointed out in a report that specialized teams from the Environmental Monitoring Department and the Marine Protection Department, in coordination with its various related departments, visited the site and inspected the matter. Samples of fish and water were also taken to the environmental laboratory for analysis and verification.

The ministry reiterated that it will follow up the issue to find out the real causes of fish deaths, and to provide the public with the results of the analysis.

The incident of fish deaths occurs worldwide and in Qatar, especially during the summer season, and it has become a regular occurrence as a result of the high temperatures and the low levels of oxygen in the water.
