Afghanistan: UAE cooperates with Taliban to organize airport operations.

(MENAFN) United Arab Emirates has concluded to monitor and control airports in the country with the Taliban administration.

Officials from both sides gathered for a press conference on Tuesday, May 24th, and made an agreement to share responsibility for airport operations in Afghanistan, according to Bakhtar News Agency.

Taliban leader Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar released a statement on Twitter after months of discussions with the UAE, Turkey, and Qatar to agree on terms on airport security cooperation.

As reported by Reuters, UAE officials have conducted a series of sessions with the group in previous weeks to discuss operating the airport, that also functions as Afghanistan's main air connection to the rest of the globe.
