Turkish FM’s trip to Israel ‘very important’


(MENAFN) An Israeli spokesperson called Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu’s visit to Israel "very important."

Foreign Ministry spokesman Lior Khayyat informed Anadolu Agency “This is a very important visit and part of a process to warm up relations between the two countries.”

Cavusoglu reached Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport on Tuesday and went to the West Bank city of Ramallah to gather with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki.

The top Turkish envoi is going to see numerous Israeli officials, as well as Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and Tourism Minister Yoel Razvozov, as reported by the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation network (KAN).

In March, Israeli Leader Isaac Herzog went to Ankara and met with Turkish Leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
