Turkey’s regular energy usage rises by 4.3pct on May 24


(MENAFN) According to official data released by the Turkish Energy Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday, regular electricity usage in Turkey rose by 4.3 percent on Tuesday in comparison to the previous day, standing at 889,416 megawatts per hours.

According to TEIAS statistics, hourly electricity usage reached 41,585 megawatts per hours at 15.00 regional time (1200 GMT). At 07.00 regional time, the nation’s power use has reached its lowest point of 29,590 megawatts per hours (0400 GMT).

Tuesday's electricity output was 886,506 megawatts per hours, up 4.2 percent compared from the previous day.

Natural gas factories produced 21.3 percent of total electricity output, whereas hydropower and lignite factories provided 21 percent and 14.9 percent, correspondingly.
