(MENAFN- Gulf Times)

British experts affirmed that Qatar's international relations contribute greatly to achieve world peace through its efforts in issues related to Afghanistan, Sudan, Chad etc. This have have enabled Qatari diplomacy to achieve a great leap towards peace in those countries.

The experts added that the success of Qatari diplomacy in several issues is due to the fact that the State of Qatar maintains good relations not only in its regional environment, but in the international community in general, stressing that the integrity of the negotiation enjoyed by the country made it a subject of agreement between the warring parties in many countries of the world.

In exclusive statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA) from London, Professor of International Politics at the University of Birmingham, Scott Lucas, said he believes that the State of Qatar has close and effective relations on the international stage, which it has strengthened strongly because of its positive response to the crises it has gone through, pointing to the strength of the State of Qatar in the current energy issue and in negotiations on Iran's nuclear program, as well as strong relations with Britain and the United States.

He pointed out that looking at the foreign tour undertaken by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, shows the strength of the country's foreign relations, and the arrangement of this visit also indicates the possibility of a Qatari move in the field of activating the negotiations of the Iranian nuclear deal between the West and Iran, pointing out that the various relations give the state flexibility to intervene in problems and solve them.

Scott Lucas stressed that Qatar's international relations are not only influential in its regional environment, but also in other regions of the world, stressing that the Ukrainian crisis highlighted the great role that Qatar can play in global energy security.

On the Qatari-British relations and their development, Lucas said that the relations between the two countries are distinguished and very large, but they are becoming increasingly distinguished during this particular period for several reasons, the most important of which is that Britain now needs to reformulate its political and military role in the international arena, after its withdrawal from the European Union (Brexit), in addition, Britain is now seeking to enter into new commercial partnerships after Brexit, providing it with new markets that balances the European market from which it exited.

He expected that there would be many issues on the table of His Highness the Amir and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, foremost of which would be activating economic and investment relations, especially as the two countries are in the process of launching their first strategic dialogue after the visit of HH the Amir, as well as discussing the energy crisis, he said that there is no doubt that discussions about these relations will be frank, because both parties have good intentions in strengthening this relationship.

The Editor in Chief of 'Arab Digest' newspaper, Bill Law, affirmed the great importance of His Highness the Amir's visit to Britain, stressing that the many turbulent issues in the world, Qatar's diplomatic role, as well as the energy crisis in Europe give great impetus to this visit, which is expected to have great positive results on the relations not only between Qatar and Britain, but also between Qatar and the West as a whole.

Law added, in exclusive statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA) from London, that the visit of His Highness the Amir comes as British Prime Minister Boris Johnson seeks to find solutions to the energy crisis that Britain is going through as a result of the war in Ukraine, noting that the Qatari-British relations in the field of energy dating back more than 20 years and these relationships are expected to increase in the future.

He explained that the situation in Ukraine will also receive a large area of discussion during HH the Amir's visit to Britain, the British Prime Minister will certainly express his deep gratitude to HH the Amir for Qatar's support for refugees as a result of the crisis, pointing out that the two sides will discuss the Qatari role in the stalemate in the Iranian nuclear program, and the active and influential role that Qatar plays in resolving this stalemate between the two parties.
Law added that the State of Qatar has great diplomatic experience in resolving major issues and can certainly bring the nuclear agreement negotiations to a much better stage than they are now and communicate to a formula that satisfies all parties and leads to a new agreement that completely closes this file.

In his interview with QNA, Law expected that trade cooperation between the two countries would be one of the most prominent issues that will be a priority on the table of talks between HH the Amir and the British Prime Minister, especially as Britain faces difficult economic challenges after its exit from the European Union (Brexit), pointing out that Johnson's government is seeking to conclude trade agreements to compensate for its exit from the European bloc, so London aims to deepen its trade relations with Qatar in the coming period.

Regarding the Qatari role in Afghanistan, he said that the exceptional role of the State of Qatar was manifested in the Afghan crisis with the unorganized withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan, where Qatar played a pivotal role in evacuating foreign nationals, and this was greatly welcomed in the whole world, pointing out that Qatar made efforts Positively significant to reduce the space for differences between the Taliban and the West.

For his part, senior gas analyst at S&P Global Platts, James Huckstepp, stressed that Qatar's diverse international relations made it an important player in all issues in the Middle East and even in the world at large. Huckstepp expressed his appreciation of Qatar's project to raise the production of the North Field to 126 million tons over the next five years, stressing that this decision indicates Qatar's strong vision of the factors surrounding the world gas market.

Huckstepp also praised, in exclusive statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA) from London, Qatar's permanent vision of the need to insulate the energy issue from political strife, as its one of the most important issues in the world and has negative effects on societies, stressing that Qatar's plan to increase production in the coming period is in line with the increase in global demand for this important commodity.

Huckstepp added that the energy issue will, of course, be of great importance during HH the Amir's visit to Britain, as well as during his entire European tour, given the circumstances surrounding this issue, which escalated as a result of the war in Ukraine, given that Russia is the first gas supplier in Europe.

He pointed out that there is a clear Qatari desire to diversify relations with Europe and to include all economic, trade and investment fields, not just the energy issue, pointing to the Rolls-Royce project in which Qatar has entered into direct investment, which aims to produce clean energy through small nuclear reactors.

Rolls-Royce announced last year that the Qatar Investment Authority had agreed to invest 85 million pounds ($112.3 million) in Rolls-Royce and a government-backed project to develop small nuclear reactors in Britain, the Qatar Investment Authority will get 10% of the shares in Rolls-Royce Small Modular Reactor, majority-owned by Rolls-Royce, which was established to develop 'low-cost and low-carbon' nuclear energy technology.
