Frontier commissioners from Azerbaijan, Armenia to encounter shortly


(MENAFN) Based on the president of the European Council, the first conference of the joint frontier commissioners of Azerbaijan and Armenia is going to take place shortly.

After their conference on Sunday, Charles Michel made a declaration, "today I hosted President (Ilham) Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Prime Minister (Nikol) Pashinyan of Armenia again. This was our third discussion in this format. We focused on the situation in the South Caucasus and the development of EU relations with both countries as well as the broader region."

The officials discussed "humanitarian issues, including demining, and efforts to free detainees"as well as "the fate of missing persons," according to Michel, who described the conversations as " frank and productive."

According to the declaration, both sides agreed to have the first meeting "the inter-state border in the coming days." to resolve frontier concerns.
