Profits from Russian gas expects to reach new records

(MENAFN) Due to the steep spike in energy costs, Russia might earn a record USD100 billion in gas sales to European nations this year, according to French Publication Les Echos, quoting Citibank experts.

According to the article, gas sales are expected to generate nearly twice as much revenue as previous year. Profits from the selling of other Russian products, such as oil, coal, and other minerals, are not included in the study.

Despite penalties and threats of a broad embargo on Russian energy, the 27 European Union nations continue to contribute around USD200 million a day to Gazprom, according to Les Echos.
