Stock giants close at good figures


(MENAFN) The Dow recovered from a 600-point loss yesterday to end at a good territory. The blue-chip increased 8.77 points, or 0.03 percent, to end at 31,261 points. The S&P 500 rose 0.57 points, or 0.01 percent, to close at 3,901.

Meanwhile, Nasdaq, the technology giant, dropped 33 points, or 0.3 percent, to 11,354. The VIX volatility index, a.k.a the fear index, increased 0.3 percent to 29.43.

The dollar index increased 0.3 percent to 103.01, however, the U.S. Treasury yield since 2012 dropped 2.4 percent to 2.785 percent. Expensive metals were combined with the cost of gold increasing 0.24 percent to USD1,846, while silver dropped 0.8 percent to USD21.75.

Crude costs increased around 1 percent. International oil benchmark Brent crude was trading at USD112.66 for a 0.55 percent every day profits, meanwhile U.S. benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was at USD110.31, a 0.4 percent rise.
