Beirut, May 21 (Petra) –– Lebanese Health Minister Firas Al-Abyad said on Saturday that no cases of 'monkeypox' were detected in the country so far, and any confirmed cases will be reported immediately.
'With regard to bacterial epidemics, we will adhere to the procedures required by the World Health Organisation in terms of preparing isolation spaces and other measures when an infection is reported,' he said in a statement.
He said that as a precaution, he gave instructions to the Prevention Department at the Ministry of Public Health to carry out controls at border posts, mainly Rafic Hariri International Airport, or through diagnosis at clinics with infectious disease doctors.
