Nigeria puts sanction on its “Okadas”


(MENAFN) Lagos, the commercial capital city of Nigeria, announced it is going to restrict motorbike taxis from working in lots of the congested city, eliminating a famous type of transport for citizens there.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos city, stated the sanction, the second one since 2020, is going to come into act from the next month, furthermore, the motorcycle taxi services, a.k.a Okadas were dangerous.

It was not known right away if the restriction, which does not involve delivery motorbikes, is going to actually have ride-hailing unicorns like Oride, Gokada and Max.ng, which have pursued to take advantage of the area’s packed population of beyond 20 million residents to broaden their commerce.
