São Paulo – Egyptian foods in different forms are being offered at APAS Show, Latin America's largest supermarket trade show. The options include goods from companies that already have exported to Brazil like Egct Frozen. The brand produces and sells frozen food . According to Ayman Mohamed Eldosouky, vice president of Egct Frozen , the company has products across all continents and plans on expanding its operations in Brazil.“We produce and have a plant in Alexandria. We are here especially for getting new contacts, meeting the clients we already have and trying to boost our sales to Brazil,” Eldosouky said.

The focus for exports to Brazil, the vice president said, are frozen fruits like strawberry and mango. The company also sells different frozen vegetables , including broccoli, spinach, corn and carrots. There are also typical foods from Egypt like mulukhiyah .
With a similar plan, Fresh Gate has sold olives in Brazilian soil but wants more.“We've sold olives to Brazil for five years. Now we want to increase the volume sold and widen our portfolio,” Mohamed Shahat, general manager of Fresh Gate, said.
Mashreq came to APAS for the first time
Among the products the company wants to create room in Brazil for are peppers and artichokes . The latter can be exported either fresh or frozen.
On the other hand, Mashreq for Business Development wants to break into the market with industrialized and novel products. The brand bets on products like spices , salad dressings, as well as the most recent Chunky's Crispy Chicken, a crumbing batter mix for chicken.“We're trying to export these to Brazil, and we have different formats, for both the end consumer and in bulk for distributors,” Abdelrahman El Moghazy, Exports director of Mashreq, pointed out.
The company also has a tea and herbs line sold in two sizes. Mashreq has plants in Cairo and Alexandria and exports to countries like Oman, Bahrain and Spain.
