Qatar Museums' Teen Council Expo Begins Today

Doha: Qatar Museums' (QM) Teen Council expo will begin from today until Saturday at Khalifa International Stadium.

QM announced this on its website where it said that the special expo will highlight an array of opportunities available for teenagers to become more involved in Qatari society.

The three-day event is a free to attend expo which is organised by Qatar Museums' Teen Council. It offers young people aged 12 to 18 the chance to learn about various opportunities to get involved with museums, heritage sites, cultural institutions and teenage-focused organisations within Qatar.

The expo's planned programme includes booths representing archaeology and heritage, Katara Cultural Village, the National Museum of Qatar, the Museum of Islamic Art, Fire Station, M7, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, Generation Amazing, Doha Film Institute, Music Lab, Qatar Museums' Teen Council, Liwan, DADU: Children's Museum, Ajial Educational Center and Microsoft.“Visitors to the expo will also be able to walk the track surrounding the pitch at Khalifa Stadium and to tour the Members-only area,” QM said. Interested individuals may need to register via QM website in able to attend the expo. 

The Teen Council is a new Qatar Museums' initiative to create events for teens by teens. Participants will also be given access to special Qatar Museums' events including opening nights, visiting artist exhibitions, speaker series, among others, and will have the chance to advise Qatar Museums on upcoming artists and exhibitions. This council will be key in giving teens a voice and a sense of community.
