Central bank, 44 nations set to meet in El Salvador to discuss digital economy

(MENAFN) The nation has stated in an announcement that Central bank and economic authorities from 44 nations globally are meeting on Monday in El Salvador to talk about problems associated to the digital economy, mainly the cryptocurrency Bitcoin.

Late Sunday, an announcement stated that set to attend the occasion are representative from nations such as Paraguay, Angola, Ghana, Namibia, Uganda, Guinea, Madagascar, Haiti, Burundi, Eswatini (Swaziland), Jordan, Gambia, the Honduras, Maldives, Rwanda, Nepal, Kenya, Pakistan, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Egypt, Nigeria, Senegal, Dominica, Mauritania, Congo, Armenia, as well as Bangladesh.

Past September El Salvador became the first nation to accept Bitcoin as legal tender.
Leader Nayib Bukele earlier stated that his nation bought 500 Bitcoins at an average price of USD30,744.

On Monday, Bitcoin was exchanged at USD29,756.8 dropping 3.96 percent since the prior exchange session.

Throughout the last four weeks, Bitcoin dropped 26.13 percent, after a larger upsurge of sharp falls in the international cryptocurrency market.
