Turkish shares close Monday with decreases


(MENAFN) On Monday, Turkey’s main share index decreased 1.18 percent to end at 2,390.79 points.

After opening Monday at 2,419.93, the BIST 100 index dropped 28.44 points from last week’s end of 2,419.23 points.

The index's worst price throughout Monday stood at 2,390.79 points, whereas its greatest stood at 2,424.54.

Closing the day with a market worth of about 2 trillion Turkish liras (around USD125 billion), the index had a day-to-day exchange volume of 34.3 billion liras (USD2.2
billion).

The biggest exchange volumes were recorded by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, conglomerate Sabanci Holding, as well as private lender Garanti BBVA.

Conglomerate Global Yatirim Holding was the highest performer of Monday, with its stocks increasing 6.80 percent, whereas the pharma firm Gen Ilac witnessed the highest fall, 9.73 percent.
