Turkey’s benchmark stock index starts stable at 2,419.93 points


(MENAFN) On Monday, Turkey’s benchmark stock index started at 2,419.93 points, rising by 0.70 point (0.03 percent) from its last end.

On Friday, the BIST 100 index of the Bursa Istanbul increased by 1.18 percent to hit 2,419.23 points, with a daily exchanging volume of 31.8 billion Turkish liras (USD2 billion).

As of 09.45 a.m. regional time (0645 GMT), the United States dollar/Turkish lira trade rate was 15.5000, up from 15.4700 at the last week's end.

The euro/lira trade rate was 16.1200 vs 16.0350, with the British pound fetching 18.9580 liras, lower from 18.9090 at the previous ending.

As of 09.42 a.m. regional time, Brent crude oil was selling for about USD110 each barrel, whereas gold was trading at USD1,804.34 per ounce.
