RBI holds town-hall meeting with entrepreneurs in Shillong
Shillong, May 14 (KNN) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) hosted a Townhall meeting with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) entrepreneurs of South West Garo Hills, Shillong and welcomed their suggestions and feedback on problems faced by them in accessing Bank finance, etc.
Convened at the Multi Facility Centre (MFC), Zikzak the aim was to create awareness of banking facilities among the entrepreneurs; linking the unbanked entrepreneurs to the formal banking system.
It also catered a two way communication amongst the stakeholders, the meeting was organised in unbanked/ underbank area.
The borrowers were reminded to clear their dues on time and utilize the loan amount for the specific purpose they borrow rather than spending it for other personal purposes, said the Additional Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills, AVD Shira.
Present on the occasion, P Gangte, General Manager (O-I-C), RBI Shillong, said this is unique meeting as we decide on the best course of action to formally include MSME entrepreneurs under the banking channel through credit linkage.
During the programme entrepreneurs were handed over loan sanction letters amounting to Rs 1.05 crore.
Quiz and question and answer session was conducted where the successful participants were awarded bags imprinted with financial awareness messages from RBI Shillong. (KNN Bureau)
