Turkey Significantly Increases Steel Exports To US

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 29. Turkey increased steel exports to the US by 5.1 times in March 2022, compared to the same month in 2021, to $10.4 million, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend .

According to the ministry, Turkey exported steel to the US in the amount of $372.8 million in 1Q2022, which is 2 times more than in the same period in 2021.

Turkey exported $2.2 billion worth of steel to world markets in March 2022, up 48.9 percent from the same month in 2021.

'Turkey totally exported steel to world markets in the amount of $5.6 billion in 1Q2022, which is 51 percent more than in the same period in 2021,' the ministry said.

Turkey has exported a total of $24.2 billion worth of steel over the past 12 months (from March 2021 through March 2022).

Turkey exported steel worth $22.3 billion to world markets last year.
