BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 28. The Prosecutor
General's Office and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of
Azerbaijan have disseminated information on the fire that occurred
in the 'Azersun Industrial Park' in the village of Haji Zeynalabdin
Tagiyev in the city of Sumgayit, Trend reports.
Based on the information received, employees of the Prosecutor
General's Office and the Ministry of Emergency Situations
immediately left for the scene. During a preliminary investigation,
it was determined that the fire started in the area of a plastic
waste dump and, spreading to food and other warehouses, covered a
large area.
In the Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor's
Office, a criminal case was initiated under Article 225.2 of the
Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, an investigative group was created
consisting of investigators from the Prosecutor's Office and the
Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Measures are being taken to contain and extinguish the fire.
After the fire is extinguished, an investigation will be
conducted to determine the causes of the incident and determine the
amount of damage caused.
