Kuwait's March Crude Oil Exports To Japan Up 12.0 Pct

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TOKYO, April 28 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's crude oil exports to Japan in March grew 12.0 percent from a year earlier to 6.28 million barrels, or 203,000 barrels per day (bpd), for the first increase in two months, government data showed Thursday.
As Japan's fourth-biggest oil provider, Kuwait supplied 7.1 percent of the Asian nation's total crude imports, the Japanese Natural Resources and Energy Agency said in a preliminary report.
Japan's overall imports of crude oil rose 22.5 percent year-on-year to 2.87 million bpd, up for the eighth month in a row. Shipments from the Middle East accounted for 93.3 percent of the total, up 2.8 percentage points from the year before, it said.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) returned to be Japan's No.1 oil supplier, with imports from the country surging 84.8 percent from a year earlier to 1.10 million bpd, followed by Saudi Arabia with 983,000 bpd, down 5.8 percent.
Qatar ranked third with 265,000 bpd and Russia fifth with 104,000 bpd, respectively. Japan is the world's third biggest oil consumer after China and the US. (end)
