Doha Festival City Donates Ramadan Food Boxes

Doha: Doha Festival City, Qatar's one and only choice for shopping, dining, and entertainment, is pleased to announce its collaboration with Qatari Charity in a joint food drive during the holy month of Ramadan. 

As part of the ongoing 'Festival Cares' initiative, Doha Festival City donated 500 boxes with essential Ramadan food supplies to Mall services personnel, as well as to workers in the Industrial Area and other locations, and to the low-income families in Qatar with the support of Qatar Charity.

Doha Festival City and Qatar Charity distributed Food Boxes to ensure wholesome Ramadan meals for those in need. Each box included basic food staples which can feed up to 3 people, provided by Doha Festival City. The joint team, comprised of Doha Festival City managers and volunteers, worked closely with Qatar Charity representatives to ensure the distribution of the 500 Ramadan food boxes, 150 of which were donated to the Mall services personnel, and 350 delivered to labour camps and families in need.

The Doha Festival City onsite team included volunteers from the mall's staff, as well as General Manager Robert Hall, Assistant General Manger Hazem Murad, and Senior Marketing Manager, Nehal Maher. The mall's team worked alongside Qatar Charity representatives; Head of Projects at the Local Development Department, Farid al Siddiqi and Marketing and External Affairs Manager, SalahAl Mahmoud.

Commenting on the initiative, Robert Hall, Festival City's General Manager, said:“As a part of our ongoing Festival Cares initiatives, we are delighted to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan by giving back to the community through collaborating with our long-time partners, Qatar Charity. This month is the perfect occasion for remembering to think of others and extending a helping hand to those in need.”

Fatima Al Mohannadi, Director of Local Programs and Community Development at Qatar Charity (QC), valued Doha Festival City's collaboration in“ Ramadan of Hope“ Campaign with Qatar Charity, through providing essential Ramadan food supplies to service personnel, workers, and families with low income in Qatar to help them meet basic needs during the holy month of Ramadan.

She praised the continuous cooperation between Qatar Charity and Doha Festival City in current and previous Qatar Charity Campaigns through the distribution of food boxes. She also stressed that Qatar Charity is keen on involving companies and institutions in charities to give back to the community, noting that successful cooperation with companies, institutions, and members of society is considered the basis of the success of charity and volunteer work at the local level.
