Iran weightlifters prepares for this year IWF junior world championships


(MENAFN) The tournament is going to be organized in Heraklion, Greece from the 2nd to the 10th of the next month.

Yousefi, who got the gold medal 4 years ago at the Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games, is going to contest at the men’s +109kg.

He scored a new record in the last year’s World Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Yousefi made 238kg in the clean and jerk and bettered the world junior highest by one kilogram set by his fellow citizen Ali Davoudi 3 years ago in the Asian Weightlifting Championships in Ningbo, China.

Jamali won Iran’s first-ever medal in the weightlifting championships in women’s division.
She claimed a bronze medal in the 87kg weight division last year at the IWF Junior World Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Jamali lifted the 92kg in snatch and 116kg in clean and jerk, she got the bronze medal with a total score of 208.
