Turkiye reveals new floating offshore wind power modelling analysis

(MENAFN) Through a novel design devised by researchers from the Izmir Institute of Technology, Turkiye's first floating offshore wind power modeling study is going to assist in discovering wind energy potential in the nation's waters (IYTE).

The research inspects at the IYTE's Civil Engineering Department Laboratory's unusual design model, which is scaled down 1/40 from a typical model. A wave generator and an open-type wind generator, both designed and constructed in-house, may be found at the laboratory. The study was financed by a TUBITAK 1001 grant for Scientific and Technological Research Projects, which looked into how the design model functions in severe weather and with regular and erratic waves.
