Turkey requests Greece to stop 'inhumane treatment' of refugees

(MENAFN) Turkey criticized Greece on how she is treating refugees in an "inhumane" way, when 19 of them reportedly died out of cold weather at the Greek-Turkish frontier.

Turkey’s National Defense Ministry stated the refugees, whose clothes, shoes, and other belongings were allegedly seized by Greek frontier armies ahead of being pushed back to Turkey, passed away in the cold weather "as a result of Greece's inhumane treatment."

According to the ministry "Greece must immediately end its inhumane treatment both on its land borders and at sea," while blaming Athens of ignoring the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

It as well affirmed that Turkey believes Greeks "followed these images with shame and heartache and met this treatment of migrants with hatred. These actions should now draw the EU's attention."
