Cargo loading, unloading in Iran’s seaports increases by 20 percent


(MENAFN) Cargo loading and unloading in Iran’s seaports jumped by 20 percent in the first ten months of the present Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2021-January 20, 2022), in comparison to the corresponding time frame of the past year.

As declared in a report by Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), loading and unloading of commodities in the nation’s seaports hit 127.631 million tons during the stated time frame, whereas the figure amounted at 106.453 million tons during last year’s corresponding time period.

The report also stated that throughout the mentioned ten months, unloading and loading processes in the cargo sector reached 1.78 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), 18 percent over 1.503 million TEUs in the initial ten months of the previous year.
