São Paulo – The Arab Health healthcare show, the largest in the Middle East, has been consolidating itself as one of the most significant worldwide, including for Brazilian companies. This year's edition, which ended this Thursday (27) in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, featured 21 Brazilian companies and generated over USD 2 million in business for the South American country. Expectations are for more than USD 10 million in the next 12 months.

The Projects and International Marketing manager of the Brazilian Medical Devices Manufacturers Association (ABIMO ), Larissa Gomes, told ANBA the show was outstanding, with many visitors since the first day, resembling the pre-pandemic period.“Many countries in the region are coming here to do business. We made 1,255 contacts during the four days, and the leading countries were India, Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Pakistan, Lebanon, Turkey, and the UAE,” said Gomes.

According to the executive, Brazilian companies were incredibly pleased with the show's return, which resulted in qualified contacts and a great flow of visitors.“This demonstrates a resumption of these quality events, even though we are still in a pandemic period. It is crucial for us to be here and conquer these markets in which Brazil has a competitive edge. There is no production of medical devices here, and we have quality and attractive prices compared to manufacturers from other countries. We consider this a critical market for our exports,” she declared.

One of the 21 Brazilian companies participating in Arab Health 2022 was Atrasorb, which produces CO2 absorbers used in the medical field in procedures requiring inhalation anesthesia.“Arab Health is today the most important medical devices show for us, more than the event in Germany, mainly because of the type of contact we make; many customers come here and do not go to Europe, this is a fast-growing market and has a good relationship with Brazil,” Atrasorb director Lucas Vicente told ANBA.

According to him, his company has good access to the markets represented at the show because Atrasorb has all the certifications from the United States and Europe required for products in this sector worldwide.“We have many important contacts here, so much so that we came in June last year, and we are back now in January because of the importance of the show. This is an event we cannot help but take part in. Being strategic for our positioning in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and even some countries in Eastern Europe,” declared Vicente.
