Hundreds of women took to the streets in Kabul and demanded the release of Afghanistan's frozen funds in the western banks.

The pro-Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan women had staged their protest beside the US embassy in Kabul, on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.

The protestors in particular asked the US to unfreeze the assets of Afghanistan's Central Bank.

They also asked the International community to recognize the interim government of Afghanistan.

Earlier, both men and women had protested for the release of Afghanistan's nearly $10 billion assets in the Afghan capital Kabul and provinces.

The US has still sanctions on the Taliban in place but has always repeated that the sanctions only target the Taliban, not the common people.
