(MENAFN) Leading US market indices ended the day upward on Monday, correcting direction following a significant selloff earlier in the day.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended at 34,364, increasing by 99.13 points, or 0.29 percent. The S&P 500 index gained 12.9 points, or 0.36 percent, to end at 4,410.13. the Nasdaq surged by 86.2
points, or 0.63 percent, to close at 13,855.
The VIX volatility index, also referred to as the fear index, increased by 4.12 percent to reach 30.04. Moreover, the dollar index rose 0.26 percent to get to 95.880, whereas the 10-year US Treasury bond increased by roughly 2 basis points to reach 1.76 percent.
