UK: Russian attack on Ukraine to be 'disastrous step'

(MENAFN) Britain restated that a Russian attack on Ukraine would be a “disastrous step.”

UK Premier Boris Johnson announced that an attack is “going to be a painful, violent, and bloody business.”

Johnson added "I think it's very important that people in Russia understand that this could be a new Chechnya."

He answered a query on the possibility of starting a conflict, stating that “it is not inevitable” and went on to say "I've got to tell you that I think the intelligence is pretty gloomy at this point.”

"There is certainly a very, very large array of Russian forces and we have to take the necessary steps.”

Johnson as well affirmed "I don't think it's by any means inevitable now, I think that sense can still prevail."
