European Commission grants Ukraine USD1.3B


(MENAFN) European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen reported, the European Commission plans to give Ukraine a fresh deal of financial backing that is estimated at USD1.3 billion.

Von der Leyen included in a tweet, “The EU stands by Ukraine. We are firm in our resolve. I am announcing a new financial assistance package, made of emergency loans and grants, to support Ukraine in the medium and long-term.”

As she mentioned, this backing will aid the nation “to address financing needs due to the conflict & support the country's resilience-building efforts.”

Von der Leyen also posted that the deal contains macro-financial aid of USD1.3 billion and an increase of two-sided help in 2022, with an additional USD135.5 million.
