Doha: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) conducted inspection campaigns in retail outlets across Qatar, including in Ain Khaled, Muaither, and Umm Salal.

The inspection campaigns identified 24 violations across several outlets, including provision of incomplete information on the shop identification plate; expiration of commercial licenses; change of shop location; exercise of an additional, unregistered commercial activity; and failure to ensure the shop's name matches the official name recorded in the register and commercial license.

These inspections are in line with the Ministry's aim to monitor compliance with the laws and regulations governing the commercial sector and protection of consumer rights.

In this regard, the Ministry stressed that it would not tolerate any negligence in meeting the obligations stipulated by Law No. (5) of 2015 on Commercial, Industrial, and Similar Public Shops, and Street Vendors.

The Ministry is working to intensify its inspection campaigns to control violations and to refer violators of laws and Ministerial decisions to the competent authorities to take due measures.

The Ministry further urges all citizens and residents to report any violations pertaining to registration and commercial licensing via its official channels.
