KABUL (Pajhwok): Neither representatives of the Taliban nor the US special envoy for Afghanistan are expected to visit Moscow, says a top Russian diplomat.

In an interview with TASS news agency on Monday, President Putin's envoy for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov said:“We have no such plans.”

Earlier, a former Afghan spymaster said Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar and Defence Minister Mullah Yaqoob had visited for Moscow.

Rahmatullah Nabil wrote on his Twitter account:“While Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mutaqi is in Norway, Mullah Yaqoob Omari paid a secret visit to Russia recently.

The ex-intelligence chief said Deputy Premier Abdul Ghani Baradar was also currently in Russia on an unannounced visit.

Meanwhile, Nabil told the Washington Examiner:“If Russians were going to confirm this trip, then they will not make it covert. According to sources, they went through Uzbekistan.”

Speaking to the state-run news agency, Kabulov said Moscow had sent no representative to Oslo to attend intra-Afghan meeting there.“We aren't participating.”
