Qatar National Library (QNL) will host a virtual tour of the Children's Library on January 26 for parents and educators to familiarise them with the range of services and resources offered for the special needs community. The Children's Library offers a welcoming and motivating setting for young learners, including those with disabilities, to pursue continuous learning outside the boundaries of the classroom and discover new interests and talents through QNL's services, programmes and online and print resources.
On the occasion, Maram al-Mahmoud, head of the Children's Library at QNL, said:“The Children's Library has always been attentive to embrace children of all abilities. Children are the future of our country and empowering them with knowledge and resources is a key priority. Our online resources include topics such as travel, healthcare, digital education and health for children with special needs. We believe this virtual tour will provide helpful insights for parents and educators of children with special needs to learn more about what we offer and how we can support a child's growth and development through the power of knowledge.”
The Children's Library offers a collection of more than 100,000 children's books, ebooks and electronic educational games and toys to develop a child's sensorimotor skills. It also hosts several online and offline activities for children and their families, as well as workshops on child development for parents, educators and caretakers. Programmes and activities for children with special needs are conducted by experts and specialists.
The Children's Library's librarians are dedicated to serving the needs of children and their families by being available to answer any questions related to the collection and other QNL resources.
QNL also has an excellent collection of resources about various aspects of childcare for parents, caregivers and educators.
