EU hunts for realistic possibilities to boost natural gas supplies

(MENAFN) According to the European Union's Energy Commissioner Kadri Simson, the EU is negotiating with its partners in trading to find realistic possibilities for boosting natural gas shipments to its participant nations.

Following a conference with European energy ministers in France on Saturday, Simson stated that, “the gas storage levels in the EU are significantly lower than usual at this time of the year.”

Back when gas stockpile supplies were exceptionally low, as well as the rising tensions outside the EU's eastern borders, the energy chief stressed that EU officials must stay "extremely vigilant" to ensure the union is prepared for emergency scenarios.
